What is in the book?

In “50 Georgian verbs” book you’ll find two parts. The first is the grammar introduction. We do not snow you under the whole grammar, but only focus on what is crucial on A1-A2 levels. We give you the piece of grammar info that is helpful for you to use the verbs and to learn them as a result.

The second part is  verbs conjugated  in 5 forms aka screeves, in 3 tenses: present, imperfect (similar to past continuous), future, aorist (similar to past simple) and optative. Those forms are the basis for knowing Georgian on beginner and pre intermediate levels.

What is more, you receive the example sentences to each verb in each form (screeve), so 250 example sentences in total! We also get this stressful feeling when not being sure if we conjugated the verb correctly. If you only had an example sentences to learn from, didn’t you?  You can study not only the verb itself, cases connected with it, but also the example sentences (with translations!).

The book consists of 118 pages. Here you can download the table of content of “50 Georgian verbs. Part 1”. The grammatical part is focused on describing you in a simple form the basics of verbs conjugation in Georgian. We give you several advices what to focus on. Also we show you how this part you learn now is connected with other forms of Georgian verbs. The verbs part is 100 pages of knowledge. Each verb is described on 2 pages, in a clear way, with a place for you notes, additions or thoughts.

Also we are working on on-line self-paced course connected with the study material from the book. In future we would like to publish it also in hard copy. Asia Dziuba – author of the book. Founder of Languages of the Caucasus – Języki Kaukazu. For over 10 years teaching Georgian during individual and group classes and self-paced courses. Then she has started creating own study materials which gained lots of positive freedback. The idea for the conjugated verbs series was her dream since the moment she has started learning Georgian in 2008 when studying at Ilia State University in Tbilisi.
