Georgian restaurant is often the first contact with Georgian culture and language. This is also the place where we are left alone with menu and the waiter. So today, let\u2019s learn the useful verb and some phrases!<\/p>

This article is the continuation of the first post about Georgian restaurant,<\/a> which you may read here. You\u2019ll find there several useful words as well as the verbs “to eat” and “to drink”. This time we\u2019ll add to your Georgian repertoire the verb “to want” and additional helpful words.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

How does the verb \"to want\" conjugate? <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The verb “to want”, so \u10dc\u10d3\u10dd\u10db\u10d0<\/strong> in Georgian, in present tense conjugates as follows:<\/p>

(\u10d8\u10e1) \u10e8\u10d4\u10dc \u10d2\u10d8\u10dc\u10d3\u10d0<\/p>

(\u10d8\u10e1) \u10e9\u10d5\u10d4\u10dc \u10d2\u10d5\u10d8\u10dc\u10d3\u10d0<\/p>

As you may have already noticed this verb conjugates in a objective way. It means that the person who wants something is in the 3rd<\/sup> case and something or someone we want remains in the 1st<\/sup> case. Please keep in mind, this is the conjugation for the form to want something\/someone, so the 3rd<\/sup> person. The forms: I want you, you want me etc. is not covered in this post. What you may additionally learn from this verb is the conjugation pattern \u2013 one of the 2 typical for the objective conjugation. By this, I mean the markers \u10db\u10d8-, \u10d2\u10d8-, \u10e3-<\/strong> and so on, i.e. all the letters before the root of the verb (-\u10dc\u10d3<\/strong>). You\u2019ll see those in many other verbs. This is also an easy way to recognize the conjugation of the verb.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

How to use the verb \"to want\" in Georgian?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Let\u2019s then look at the example sentence with this verb. If you want to say “I want bread” it will look like this: \u10de\u10e3\u10e0\u10d8 \u10db\u10d8\u10dc\u10d3\u10d0<\/strong>. If “he wants bread” it we\u2019ll say it as follows: \u10db\u10d0\u10e1 \u10de\u10e3\u10e0\u10d8 \u10e3\u10dc\u10d3\u10d0<\/strong>.<\/p>

The same rules apply to the questions you want to ask with this verb:<\/p>

What do you want? – \u10e0\u10d0 \u10d2\u10d8\u10dc\u10d3\u10d0?<\/strong><\/p>

Who wants (something)? –\u00a0 \u10d5\u10d8\u10e1 \u10e3\u10dc\u10d3\u10d0?<\/strong><\/p>
